LO1 Guardian review for Bayonetta 2.

Guardian review for Bayonetta 2.

Genre
The Guardian explains it is a Third Person Beat'em up and goes into how the genre isn't about completing the game but rather it is about getting better at the combat, to the point where it is like doing a performance.

Target Audience

Narrative/Storyline
The Guardian explained the plot in fairly quirky and humorous way. The first sentence is "Bayonetta 2 begins with shopping." And then after explaining how her friend is dragged into hell, the phrase "So typical" is used, as a joke since that's not typical at all.

Characters
The Guardian praised the character of Bayonetta for her large amount of control and power with a likable personality, and talked about criticism of her sexualisation but responded to how it can be a positive thing.

Gameplay
The Guardian talked about it being a 3D brawler, and what the genre is about. They said that the focus wasn't on finishing the game but rather doing well with the combos and treating the fights as a performance rather than a task to beat the game. They praised the high amount of setpieces in the game, the flashy combat in the game, the amount of extras to get in the game like the making of segments, and the smooth controls.

Platform
Wii U
